Mabel C. Beatty, 73, 5275 West Beach Lane, Bloomington, a former French Lick area resident died Tuesday at Bloomington Convalescent Center.  She was a retired employee of Indiana University where she was a cook.  She was born May 23, 1905  at Cloverdale to Lemuel Harvey and Mettie May May McCurry Harris. She married Clyde Beatty and he died in 1961.  Surviving are one son, Harry Lee Beatty, Paoli; one daughter, Mrs. James (Kay Ann) Stone, Indianapolis; one brother, Herbert “Bud” Harris, Bloomington; and five grandchildren.  Two nephews, Claude Agan of Flint, Michigan and Harold Agan of West Baden and one niece, Ruth Thacker of Indianapolis were reared in her home.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Max and Winfred Harris. She was a member of the Methodist Church and a volunteer helper for at Templeton School for the Handicapped in Bloomington.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home in French Lick and Rev. Claude Derrell Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Ames Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home, 3000 E 3rd St, Bloomington and from 6-9 on Thursday at Brosmer-Drabing Funeral Home. - kbz
